Charlie has two older female friends he adores. Last month, we all took a trip downtown to the City Bakery and Books of Wonder. Unfortunately Charlie couldn't sample the hot chocolate at City Bakery (milk allergy), but Marin drank enough for the two of them. Charlie chowed down on delish applesauce muffins. It was the perfect rainy day outing. Even though the trip was a little female-centric, Charlie made sure to stay manly by bashing up his face on the rocks in Central Park, mussing up his hair, wearing his Yankees jersey, and taking his manly green train.
Note to New Yorkers: City Bakery has a great little children's corner of the restaurant (shown above), but make sure to miss the breakfast and lunch rushes if you visit with kids.

I love the expression on his face in that picture. So long-suffering. I'm sure it's good to have a little of the gentling female influence on your boy occasionally---I should expose my boys to more of that, probably. :) Looks like you are having lots of fun adventures. I'm glad you're doing well!
That is a hilarious picture, because Charlie looks like he is enjoying it so much! But that is a cute idea in the corner of the shop. Gavin got a lot of girl time at that age, and it helped his softer side. Boys always want to hit and wrestle.
What a fun blog. We enjoyed all the pictures of Charlie and Marin's visit. It was so fun and we had so much fun with them. Charlie says so many words and talks so well and played so well with everyone. It was fun to see Marin's family and to see Charlie interact with everyone and Pierce and Gagin. Thanks Marin and Gil for such a wonderful trip. gma and gpa B
