Inside Games

With every snow storm, Marin and Charlie expand their repertoire of indoor activities. Here are a few of our recent ones. We took down almost all of the Christmas decor. Marin's feeling pretty good about her progress. Last year we had holly garlands over the windows until June.

Charlie's not a huge fan of crayons, but he loves him some watercolors, and he LOVES him some Thomas the Tank Engine. This particular creation is now decoratin Gil's office.

Charlie has started looking at his books on his own . . .
But he's easily distracted.
On Monday we built a fort and sat under it for a while. That what cool kids do: sit in forts and read Spanish vocabulary books.

Gil has learned that the messier the house is at the end of the day, the happier Charlie is (and the more exhausted Marin is).

And this is what we do when we run out of ideas.

He looks so Big! Look at his feet! Do you need new shoes for him? It is hard in the winter. Here are some new ideas. Make playdough. Mom used to do that for us. It was way easy and not too messy. But kept us making worms for hours. I should have got you those marker sets. They have the white markers that only color on the certain paper. That is always fun. I am glad that your having fun and your not worried about making a mess to do it!

Gil and Marin,

What's going on classmates of mine? Your kid looks good--a nice mix. Anyways, ya'll seem to be doing fine in the big city. Keep in touch, Lance

I can totally relate to Marin about the Christmas decorations. They are so sad to take down, and I lack the motivation. But for some reason, each year, I put up the decorations a week earlier. At this rate, I'll have decorations up by Halloween and knowing me, they'll be up until July. Might as well just leave them up year round! ha! Maybe next year's tiny manhattan apt will motivate me to take them down early - assuming I can find a place to store them! haha!
