Charlie's New Year's Haircut

Marin has been trying to refrain from trimming Charlie's hair for a long time, but she broke last week, and we made a family trip to Kidville, USA, a children's hair salon on the Upper West Side. There are a lot of reasons to visit New York, but if the only thing you did was get a haircut at Kidville, USA, it would be worth the trip. It. Is. Awesome. These are the salon chairs:

That's right. The kids sit in miniature cars and airplanes to get their hair cut. But wait, there's more.

Every car has a TV screen in front of it to narcotize it's occupant. Charlie has scissors being applied to the back of his neck, but is he crying? No. No, he is not. See, at this point, Thomas the Tank Engine was having a particularly diverting adventure.

The true test: cutting around Charlie's ears. In the past, this process has required four adults to hold Charlie down. This time all it took was a single broken candy candy cane.
And here is what Marin was doing during this whole process:

Complimentary mommy manicures in the salon.
So at the end of the day, Charlie no longer looked like a homeless Beatles impersonator, Marin's fingernails were all the same length for the first time in two and a half year, and Gil got to experiment with the new camera and accompany his family to the Children's Museum (which is around the corner from this magical, wonderful place).

That looks awesome guys! I'd love to take Halle there, as I'm sure her first cut is going to be rough...whenever Dusty lets us cut it that is. :)
