Just Add Water

We are so backlogged on uploading photos to this blog that we decided to just post the highlights from the end of our summer. Since they almost all happened to involve Charlie splashing in some body of water or another, this post will be a theme post dedicated to Charlie and water and the last days of summer.

Coney Island has a beach that is famously crowded and dirty, but the three times that Marin took Charlie to the beach, it was neither crowded nor dirty. Charlie was so joyful discovering a beach for pretty much the first time. It was a huge kick to watch him getting progressively more brave until he was diving straight into the waves and coming up coughing and laughing. These three are Marin's favorite pictures, but, seriously, she could fill an entire album with pictures from this beautiful day.

The fountains at the Columbus Circle (about 2 blocks from our apartment) perfect for splashing, or, in Charlie's case, head dunking. There are few things we liked better on hot summer nights than sitting in the middle of the Columbus Circle while Charlie played in the fountain, accompanied by a saxophone, under the lights of the city.

This is from the Utah trip. Marin and Charlie had the most beautiful day at Mirror Lake with Gil's parents (and an enormous and delicious picnic lunch). The weather was perfect, the lake was fr-r-reezing glacier water, and there were plenty of rocks for Charlie to throw. Marin had never been to Mirror Lake before, but she will be back.

Summertime waterlogged feet.
