Goo'-bye New York

Marin has been kissing Charlie up more than usual over the last few days, ever since she decided to fly him to her sister's house during the moving part of the move. She will miss her little buddy, but she's so glad that he will be out of the way, blissfully playing with his cousins, during the majority of the move. Marin's been prepping Charlie for the move by telling him bedtime stories about the little boy named Charlie who gets on an airplane to go to a beautiful, wonderful place called Chicago. Charlie remembers these storied well, and every once in a while he'll say, "Goo'-bye, New York! Hello, Chicago!"

So Charlie had his last New York experiences a little early.

Last Manhattan playdate: Decorating (eating) Halloween cookies at the Stott family's apartment

Last playgroup: Bubbles in the lawn near the Trump Buildings

Oh, oh, oh, how Marin and Charlie will miss this bunch of New Yorkers!

Moms from the left: Janelle, MaryLynn, Anike, Jenni Mae, Jaime, Kirsten, Kelli, Marin, Marne, and Jacqueline. (Erin, Emily, Katie, Akiko, Ke-kee, Amanda, and Stephanie are the other playgroupers who are missing from the picture, along with the tons of moms who have moved in the last year).

Babies from the left: Zoe, Clio, Megan, Luke, Abby, Ben, Kenzie, Charlie, Aubrey, and Marin is so distracted with this move that she can't remember the names of the last two babies.

Last trip to the playground: Choo choo playground

Last time chilling out on the stoop at 56th street.

Fifteen minutes after the pictures was taken, Marin sent Charlie to the airport (bless you, Brother-in-Law, for volunteering to take a three-year-old on a plane for many, many hours). Marin and Gil will stay in New York to organize, pack, and clean. (We may manage to squeeze in a show and a nice restaurant somewhere in there . . .).

Although he doesn't know it yet, Charlie will probably miss New York City most of all of us.

Your "prepping Charlie" story idea is too cute! Good luck with all the packing!

Enjoy the new adventure. Thank goodness for family ready to help out. We're taking advantage of Jeremy's parents when we get to Utah so we can have some adult time in Vegas. Sweet joy.

Good luck with everything! I know you must be so torn to be leaving, NY is an amazing place. ON the bright side it is a decent time to be leaving the cold winter behind. Wait Chicago may be pretty chilly too. I was only there a few months & I do miss NY.
