Gil hit it off with one of the movers who helped us move into our new apartment in Thousand Oaks a few months ago because they had both recently moved here. Gil introduced him to the Spanish language branch of the church in our area, and a short time later, our friend asked if Gil would baptize him to become a member. The baptism was last weekend.
The most notable point in the baptism was when, in the middle of someone's talk (in Spanish), Charlie started clapping for no reason. Everyone else had joined in the applause before they remembered that it is not typical to clap at a Mormon baptism.

How awesome you guys!!! I miss being in the mission field, I guess I consider everywhere outside of UT "the mission field." What a great experience!
Abby loves to clap throughout sacrament meeting. She also likes to yell 'one more' after she takes the bread and water. Perhaps it would be much more fun if they led the meetings.
That is awesome! Both the clapping, and the Baptism. You guys are so great. Emmi often claps after musical numbers in church, but in Harlem, it isn't too uncommon.
Your entire family rocks!
