Charlie, still on Utah time, woke up at 5:30 every morning. He entertained himself by running up and down the halls of the motel every morning.

The California family gave Charlie tons and tons of presents (although, truth be told, he was probably more entertained by their dogs than anything else they could have given him).

That looks like a fun fun fun trip. I'm from California and can't even remember having seen the redwood trees...though I believe I did once.
